Rostov’s African players refuse to train after manager’s racist outburst Sorry - this page has been removed.
(5 months later)
A football agent says African players at the Russian club Rostov are refusing to train after the manager said he would not sign any more black players. This could be because it launched early, our rights have expired, there was a legal issue, or for another reason.
Igor Gamula said on Friday that the club had “enough dark-skinned players, we’ve got six of the things” when asked about rumours Rostov could sign a defender from Cameroon.
The agent Paul Mitchell says the club’s five African players “are not prepared to train under the current coach until such time as the situation has been dealt with”. For further information, please contact:
Mitchell is the agent for the Rostov defender Siyanda Xulu, a South Africa international. Rostov is one of the host cities for the 2018 World Cup.
