A body covered in ice has been found in the Lake District. Mystery surrounds the discovery of an ice-covered body in the Lake District.
Cumbria Police said rain water had filled a hollow around the man and frozen, leaving parts of his body encased under two inches of ice. A rescuer said rain water had filled a hollow around the man and frozen leaving parts of his body and his face encased under two inches of ice.
It is not known how long the man had been there, how he died or his identity. But the death is not being treated as suspicious.

It is not known how long the body had been on the fell and inquiries are underway to identify the man. The death is not being treated as suspicious. Pete Jackson from Duddon and Furness Mountain Rescue said: "He was covered in ice but had no visible injuries, it was very unusual.
"His face was submerged under the ice but it is unsure whether this caused him to drown or whether he fell and died before the ice froze."
