Television images from the area show grey smoke billowing from the Mid-Continent airport area. Firefighters responded around 09:50 local time (14:50 GMT) to a "horrific fire" after a plane crash landed, Fire Chief Ron Blackwell said.
The aircraft crashed into the FlightSafety International building, the airport said in a tweet. Five people are still unaccounted for, he added.
The Beechcraft aircraft lost an engine on takeoff and crashed, broadcaster KSN reports, citing US air safety officials. The fire is now under control and the two fatalities are thought to have been inside the building.

Mr Podkanowicz said the plane no longer had a cockpit but the part of the fuselage and tail was intact.
