A 39-year-old man is to appear in court charged with murder. A 39-year-old man charged with murder has been remanded in custody at Belfast Magistrates Court.
The charge is in connection with a fatal assault on 56-year-old Robert Hillen in Bedford Street in Belfast city centre last Saturday. Mark John Rush, of no fixed abode, is accused of killing Robert Hillen, 56, who died after being attacked in Belfast city centre last Saturday.
The incident took place opposite the Ulster Hall at about 1800 BST. Mr Hillen died in hospital in Belfast on Wednesday evening. A detective told the court he could connect Mr Rush to the charges.
The accused is expected before Belfast Magistrates Court. The officer agreed with a defence lawyer that there were no serious or significant visible or external injuries on the victim.
The accused was remanded in custody until 6 October.
Mr Hillen, who was assaulted outside the Ulster Hall on Bedford Street, died in hospital in Belfast on Wednesday evening.
