British tourist in France found 'murdered' with gaping head wound outside hotel
Version 0 of 1. A British tourist has been found dead with a large head wound outside a hotel in France, it has been reported. Police in the small eastern town of Dole in Jura said they believe the man was “murdered” after he disappeared on Saturday night without informing his wife or friend, who he was travelling with back from a holiday in Italy. The man, who has not been identified, was believed to be in his 50s, according to a report from Europe 1 radio. The victim was reported missing by his wife when he had not come back to the hotel by Sunday morning. His body was reportedly found later in the forecourt of a warehouse not far from the hotel. Police told local media an autopsy for the man had been scheduled, and that it was not immediately known what was caused his head wound. The investigation has been turned over to the larger police force of nearby Dijon. More follows |
