The two people who died in a house fire in Kent were a mother and her young daughter, the fire service has said. A woman and her young daughter have died in a blaze at their house, the fire service has said.

The fire started in the downstairs front room, but police and fire officers said it was speculation at this stage to suggest an electrical fault was the cause.

The fire service spokeswoman said initial inquiries suggest the fire is not suspicious, but added investigators were keeping an open mind.
A passer-by raised the alarm after spotting smoke pouring from the building.
