More time to quiz care home pair

Police have been given more time to question a couple arrested on suspicion of the murder of five people at a care home in Somerset.

Nurse Rachel Baker, 45, and her husband Leigh, 48, were initially quizzed about the death of one woman at Parkfields Residential Home in Butleigh.

On Wednesday morning magistrates granted police a further warrant of detention for the couple.

The pair were arrested on Monday morning after answering bail.

They continue to be questioned at Yeovil Police Station on suspicion of the murder of four woman and one man, theft and unlawful possession of controlled prescribed drugs and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
