Baby death mother for questioning Baby girl's death 'unexplained'

Police are set to interview a mother and her partner over the death of a six-week-old baby girl. A six-week-old baby girl from Aberdeen whose death has sparked a police investigation has been named.
The baby was admitted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary early on Sunday morning from a home in Deansloch Crescent in the Northfield area. Alexis Matheson was admitted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary early on Sunday from her home in Deansloch Crescent in Northfield.

Detective Inspector Richie Guild, who is heading the enquiry, said: "As is normal in such circumstances we have interviewed a number of people in an effort to establish what has occurred.
"We have deployed family liaison officers who are providing support to the family at this time."
Alexis was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary at about 0100 GMT on Sunday.
After initial treatment there, Alexis was transferred to the paediatric intensive care unit of Edinburgh's Royal Hospital for Sick Children by air ambulance for specialist treatment.
Police said that, despite the best efforts of medical staff, Alexis died.
A team of 20 officers are involved in the enquiry with forensic examinations and house-to-house enquiries continuing.
