Firefighters tackle Fyvie steading blaze

Firefighters were called out to tackle a major farm blaze in Aberdeenshire overnight.

The fire happened at a steading at Meikle Gourdas Farm in Fyvie.

The alarm was raised at about 02:30 and appliances from Oldmeldrum and Turriff were sent to the scene, along with a water carrier from Buckie.

Station manager Mike Cordiner said: "The crews worked hard to contain the fire and make sure it did not spread to other buildings."

The fire is not being treated as suspicious.
