Nanny in court over baby's death

A nanny accused of murdering the 13-month-old baby son of two police officers has appeared in court.

Isaac Rowlinson, the son of Det Insp Paul Rowlinson and Pc Lisa Rowlinson, died on 23 July.

Linda Wise, 46, of Gaerwen, Anglesey, North Wales, was originally charged with assaulting Isaac in Penwortham, near Preston, Lancashire.

She appeared before Preston Crown Court where she was bailed and given a provisional trial date of 23 June 2008.

The defendant will next appear at Blackburn Magistrates' Court on 28 December, when the case will be formally committed to crown court.
