The film will be broadcast to fans at Premier League and Football League matches for the rest of the month, with fans urged to download St John Ambulance’s free first aid app. Clubs including Liverpool, Chelsea and Aston Villa have also pledged to feature life saving advice in matchday programmes and will be encouraging supporters to “post their most impressive celebration selfie” on social media using the hashtag #celebrationface.
Sue Killen, CEO at St John Ambulance, says: “St John Ambulance volunteers have been keeping fans safe inside the ground for over a century. But we want to make sure fans can be the difference between life and death themselves, inside or outside the turnstiles. Emergencies can happen anywhere – on the pitch, at home or out and about. As Celebrate Like a Hero shows, downloading our free first aid app means you will always have the skills to be a first aid hero, wherever you are.”Sue Killen, CEO at St John Ambulance, says: “St John Ambulance volunteers have been keeping fans safe inside the ground for over a century. Muamba added: “After my cardiac arrest, I received first aid for over an hour. I was lucky to quickly have attention from people who knew the vital skills of CPR and how to use an AED [automated external defibrillator], which gave me a second chance. First aid is a skill anyone can learn – I’m living proof that it can save lives.”Muamba added: “After my cardiac arrest, I received first aid for over an hour.
