Version 0 of 1.

Yemen’s government and Houthi rebels pursued talks on Thursday to end a crisis that has seen weeks of tense protests in the capital, Sana. The two sides described varying degrees of progress. While the Defense Ministry’s website said a political breakthrough was “imminent,” a member of the Houthi political bureau said “small issues” remained to be settled. The Houthis, who follow a branch of Shiite Islam, are fighting the government in Sunni-dominated Sana for more territory and control in the north. Houthi protesters have been blocking the main road to Sana’s airport and holding sit-ins at ministries in an attempt to oust the government and restore fuel subsidies.
