Mid and West Wales Fire Service were called out at about 2130 GMT on Friday to help a woman whose car was stuck in flood water on the Llandrinio to Criggion road, north of Welshpool, Powys. Wayne Owen, landlord of the Boars Head, called on the fire service to help him pump out water from the cellar before he was due to serve 16 Christmas meals on Saturday night.
Water was entering the car and firefighters rescued the woman, who was not injured. "We will definitely be open for business - we have had this before and we have continued," he said.
"This is the third time we've been flooded this year. The cost is going to run into the thousands. It was £3,000 last time.

"We are insured and we have got a good insurance company but it could only be a matter of time before they turn around and say it is costing too much to insure you.
"We managed to save some of the beer for tonight but we're going to have to throw quite a lot of it away.
"The government talks about spending millions on flood defences but nothing is happening around here.
"We are flooding because they are building on flood plains and there is nowhere for the water to drain off."
