Mid and West Wales Fire Service were called out at about 2130 GMT on Friday to help a woman whose car was stuck in flood water on the Llandrinio to Criggion road, north of Welshpool, Powys.
Water was entering the car and firefighters rescued the woman, who was not injured.
Dyfed-Powys Police said the A483 between Newtown and Llanymynech was closed both ways, and the A470 between Caersws to Machynlleth was passable with care.
The A490 was also shut at Welshpool, Powys, due to flooding.
The A487 was closed both ways at Machynlleth, Gwynedd, after the River Dyfi burst its banks.
The railway line between Machynlleth and Shrewsbury, which was closed on Friday because of water on the line, has now reopened.
