Meanwhile, the USPCA is offering a reward of £500 for information that leads to the conviction of those responsible.
"The loss of their companion will cause Keith and Linda heartache and, when the time is right for them, we would be delighted to help find a pet to share their evident affection for animals," said a spokesman.
