Man hit by car when lying on road

A 37-year-old woman was driving along Main Street, Barrhead, at about 2255 GMT when her Vauxhall Cavalier struck the man. Police said the man appeared to have been lying on the road when he was hit. The driver of the car was uninjured. The 57-year-old man was taken to the Royal Alexandria Hospital, where he died. Police have appealed for witnesses to contact them. A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal. |
