Midlothian council is investigating a chemical incident at one of its recycling centres. Three people have been treated following a chemical incident at a Midlothian recycling centre.
The alarm was raised just before 10:00 at Stobhill household Waste Recycling Centre in Gorebridge. It is understood three workers have been sick. The council workers were given medical assistance at Stobhill Household Waste Recycling Centre in Gorebridge after a spill of hazardous material at 09:50.
Stobhill Depot and Stobhill Road are closed. The immediate area around the depot remains cordoned off as a public safety measure until the emergency services declare the area is safe.
A Midlothian Council spokeswoman, said: "We are currently working with the fire, ambulance and police on an incident at Stobhill depot." A Midlothian Council spokeswoman, said: "Investigations are underway."
