Kirkby collision leaves car driver dead

A woman has been killed in a collision between a car and a skip lorry on Merseyside.

The lorry and a red Mini were involved in the crash, which took place on North Perimeter Road in Kirkby at about 11:00 BST on Saturday.

Firefighters worked to free the 24-year-old woman, who is believed to be from Manchester, from the car, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Merseyside Police have appealed for witnesses of the crash to contact them.
