The West Ham midfielder Ravel Morrison has been charged with assaulting two women. West Ham United player Ravel Morrison has been remanded in custody accused of punching and slapping his ex-girlfriend and assaulting her mother.
The 21-year-old, formerly with Manchester United, is accused of attacking a young woman outside a bar in Manchester city centre in the early hours of Sunday morning. He is also accused of assaulting the same woman and another 39-year-old woman hours later. Morrison, 21, of Urmston, appeared at Manchester and Salford magistrates’ court on Thursday charged with two counts of common assault, and is accused of attacking his 19-year-old ex-girlfriend Reah Mansoor outside a nightclub in Manchester in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Morrison, from Urmston, Manchester, was arrested on Wednesday and has been charged with two counts of common assault. Morrison, who spoke only to confirm his name, is further charged with assaulting his former partner and her mother, Praveen Mansoor, 39, outside their home in Salford hours later.
He is due at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court later on Thursday. Prosecutor Clare Byers asked district judge James Prowse to remand Morrison into custody. Despite objections from Morrison’s solicitor Ros Emsley-Smith, Prowse agreed.n Wearing a white T-shirt and jogging bottoms in the dock, Morrison was told his case would be adjourned until 7 August following the hour-long hearing. He did not enter a plea.
