Police in Merseyside have arrested 33 people and seized ten firearms in raids across the city. The number of arrests involving gun crime in Merseyside has risen to 57, with 10 firearms being recovered.
The arrests are for a variety of offences including possession of firearms and drugs offences. The people have been arrested on suspicion of a variety of offences including possession of firearms and drugs offences.

Detective Chief Superintendent Steve Moore said the arrests and seizures followed on from the force putting extra officers into parts of Liverpool north, and Knowsley, "where gun crime has been identified as an issue".

In the last two weeks 13 people have been arrested in connection with firearms offences with guns, a silencer and quantities of ammunition also seized.
