Elvis impersonator Louis Fella jailed over child sex images

An Elvis Presley impersonator has been jailed for a year for downloading and distributing more than 900 indecent images of children. Louis Fella, 53, of Grantham Close, Birkdale, admitted 19 offences. The singer was caught with 907 indecent images, some of them classed at being in the most severe category, Liverpool Crown Court was told. Fella, who once sang for Sir Elton John, had been an Elvis impersonator since 1995, according to his website. He told the court he was "appalled and disgusted" at his behaviour but Judge Andrew Hatton said significant numbers of young children had endured abuse and degradation for his sexual gratification. Fella was put on the sex offenders' register and was made the subject of a sexual offences prevention order/ The entertainer, who had performed all around the world including in Las Vegas, appeared in a 2002 BBC television documentary There's Only One Elvis, plus an episode of quiz show The Weakest Link, featuring Elvis tribute acts. Fella, whose stage name is Louis Rockafella, was performing recently in Southport with his show The Spirit Of Elvis. |
