Three fishermen rescued from life-raft as boat sinks off Cape Wrath

Three fishermen have been rescued from a life-raft by a coastguard helicopter after their boat sank off the north west coast of Scotland.

The vessel, named Osprey, sent out a distress alert at 06:37 from about 10 miles south of Cape Wrath.

Stornoway coastguard rescue helicopter was scrambled and found the boat still afloat.

The crew members were in a life raft alongside the Osprey, which sank shortly afterwards.

All three crew were winched into the aircraft and transferred to the Western Isles Hospital on Lewis to be checked for hypothermia.
