Gunmen killed a female Somali lawmaker on Wednesday in a drive-by shooting in Mogadishu, the capital, a police official said, the fourth killing of a Somali lawmaker this year. The Shabab, an extremist militant group allied with Al Qaeda, claimed responsibility for the attack on Saado Ali Warsame, who was known for singing popular folk music. She was one of only a few women in Somalia’s Parliament and the first female legislator killed by the group.
