County Tyrone woman dies while on holiday in Bulgaria

A woman from County Tyrone has died after being hit by a vehicle while on holiday in Bulgaria.

It is understood the accident happened while the victim, named locally as Roseleen Donaghy, was out walking with her husband, Brian, who was also injured.

The couple had travelled to Bulgaria from their home in Donaghmore.

The circumstances of what happened are being investigated by police in Bulgaria.

The Foreign Office in London issued a statement to the BBC about the accident.

It said: "We are aware of a traffic accident in Bulgaria involving two British nationals. We are providing consular assistance."

A Sunday Mass was held at St Joseph's Grammar School in Donaghmore, where prayers were said for Roseleen Donaghy.

The congregation also prayed for Brian Donaghy's recovery.
