Walker rescued falling from cliffs at Thurso

A walker has been rescued after falling from a cliff-top coastal walk at Thurso.

The alarm was raised at 03:15 that a person had fallen from the Victoria Walk on to rocks below.

Thurso lifeboat was launched from Scrabster Harbour and used a small craft called a Y boat to get three volunteers to the shoreline.

The walker, who was conscious, was taken to hospital by ambulance.

The RNLI said that there were no further details on the casualty's condition at this stage.
