Industrial fire breaks out in Glasgow Glasgow tyre fire: Massive cloud from Renfrew blaze

Firefighters have been called to a large fire to the west of Glasgow, which is thought to have broken out at about 21:30. A massive blaze has erupted at an industrial site in the west of Glasgow sending black smoke from burning tyres high across the city.
Tyres are burning at an industrial site near Meadowside Street in Renfrew. The fire was spotted at about 22:00 BST near Meadowside Street on the banks of the River Clyde at Renfrew.
The scene of the fire is beside a large bus depot. It is reported to have broken out in a scrapyard close to a bus depot and industrial units.
There have been no reports of anyone being injured. Crowds of people who gathered to watch the fire were moved back by police officers. There have been no reports of injuries, but more than 50 firefighters are battling the blaze.
Huge plumes of smoke could be seen filling the skyline and groups of people gathered to take photos and video of the fire.
The cloud could be seen from across much of the city.
A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters are currently tackling the blaze using a number of main water jets, including one from a specialist height vehicle."
Police are also at the scene and have been attempting to move onlookers away and put in place road closures.
