Two fans have been arrested over the theft of a pair of boots belonging to Chelsea captain John Terry.

The pair, aged in their twenties, were held after the west London club's 1-0 Champions League win over Barcelona at Stamford Bridge on 19 October.

They were allegedly collecting autographs but had managed to sneak into the Chelsea squad's changing room.

A police spokesman said the pair were arrested in a "non-public area at Stamford Bridge" at 0020 BST.

They were later bailed until mid-November pending further inquiries, the spokesman said.

The boots were recovered and returned.
