Woman discovered dead in street Woman's road death not suspicious
(1 day later)
Police are trying to identify a woman found dead in a Tyneside street. The death of a woman whose body was found in a Newcastle street is not suspicious, say police.
The emergency services were called to Allendale Road, in Walker, Newcastle, after a member of the public reported a woman lying unconscious. Emergency services were called to Allendale Road in Walker early on Sunday after a member of the public reported a woman lying unconscious.
But when paramedics arrived the woman was found to be dead and surrounding roads were cordoned off. Paramedics pronounced her dead, prompting police to cordon off the area while an investigation was launched.
A spokesman for Northumbria Police said officers were trying to establish a cause of death. The woman was found in the early hours of Sunday. A post-mortem examination has since revealed that the woman, whose age is not known, died of natural causes.
