Residents of Dingwall and Nairn are to be asked for their views on planned upgrades of the towns' centres.

Highland Council's planning and development service is providing £250,000 towards upgrading Dingwall High Street.

Nairn's centre is earmarked for £430,000 worth of improvements.

Questionnaires are to be sent to households and businesses in Dingwall, while a second phase of consultation is to start in Nairn.

An open day will take place in the new Nairn Community Centre from 1500 to 1700 GMT and 1900 to 2030 GMT on 4 December, when design options will be on display for comment.

At Highland Council's Nairn Ward Forum the following evening there will also be a discussion on the streetscape in the Court House.

The forum will take place from 1800 to 2000 GMT and is open to the public.

At Dingwall, an open day will be held on 8 December at the Royal British Legion building in High Street from 1030 to 1530 GMT.
