Man charged over death explosion

A man has been remanded in custody charged with murdering a builder who died in an explosion in north London.

David Leggett, 52, of Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, was pulled from the rubble of the three-storey building in Lancaster Road, Enfield, on 11 August.

He died from smoke inhalation. Three others suffered burns.

Lee Black, 31, of Ripley Road, Enfield, appeared at Enfield Magistrates' Court on Saturday, accused of murder, arson and causing grievous bodily harm.

He was remanded until a hearing at the Old Bailey on 15 February.
