Small plane crashes in Delaware River as police rescue occupants

Delaware state police said on Saturday they were responding after a small, single-engine aircraft wound up in the Delaware River. Two people were rescued, by helicopter. They did not appear to have life-threatening injuries, police said. Police said air traffic controllers at the New Castle County Airport reported around 10.45am that they had lost contact with the aircraft. The plane was located in the Delaware River in the area between Fort Delaware State Park and Fort Mott State Park in New Jersey. |
