The police are investigating the death of a 17-year-old girl in County Londonderry, whose body was found close to a number of schools. | |
The teenager's body was found in the Blackburn Path area of Limavady at about 2230 GMT on Wednesday. | |
The area is close to St Mary's High School and Limavady High School. A 30-year-old man has been arrested. | |
It is not yet known how the teenager died, but police have appealed to witnesses to an assault. | |
East Londonderry MP Gregory Campbell says local people were "shocked" by the news. | |
"Any person that dies as a result of some form of incident is to be regretted, and I'm sure the sympathies of everyone will go out to the family," he said. | |
Police have cordoned off the area and forensic experts are examining the scene. |
