Arrest after man dies in attack

Police have arrested a 42-year-old man in connection with the death of a man in Glasgow.

Patrick Friel, 25, from Balmore Road, Glasgow, died after being assaulted by a group of men on Royston Road at 0725 GMT on Tuesday.

A spokesman for Strathclyde Police said the man had been arrested and detained in police custody.

The incident happened close to St Roch's Secondary School, where classes went ahead as normal despite the death.
