Version 0 of 1.

Gunmen fired on a plane as it was landing in the northern city of Peshawar on Tuesday night, striking a Pakistani passenger in the head in front of her young daughter and wounding three crew members. The Pakistan International Airlines flight from Saudi Arabia was attacked as it was preparing to land, the police said. The plane was hit by six bullets, which killed the woman and narrowly missed the captain. At least one bullet struck the engine, the police said. It was the third outbreak of violence at a Pakistani airport this month. On June 8, Taliban gunmen attacked the airport in Karachi, and 34 people were killed in a five-hour gun battle. The Taliban fired on an academy for the security forces at that airport two days later.
