Man held in Barbados over ex-soldier Brian Mulligan's death

Brian Mulligan, from Ashtead in Surrey, is believed to have been stabbed in the chest in a row with a local man in Christ Church on Sunday, Police in Barbados said a man was held on Tuesday in relation to the death of the 28-year-old. Insp David Welch, of the Royal Barbados Police Force, said the suspect "was assisting with the investigation". It is thought Mr Mulligan had served in the army until 2012, including a tour of duty in Iraq. Insp Welch said: "A man is currently in police custody assisting with the investigation in relation to the unnatural death of Brian Mulligan." After leaving the military, Mr Mulligan became an engineer and set off to work on the Caribbean island about two months ago, according to friends. They said he was a family man who was loving life on the island. |
