A former teacher has been found guilty of child sex offences after a trial at Preston Crown Court.

John Mead, 76, of Timbrills Avenue, Sabden, was convicted of four counts of indecent assault involving three boys under the age of 14 in the 1970s.

The court heard he committed the offences when he taught at Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School, Blackburn.

Mead has now been placed on the sex offenders' register and will be sentenced on 25 July.
