A teenager has admitted illegally owning a gun which was fired accidentally at a five-year-old boy during a "cops and robbers" game. Johnny Wilson, 18, of Upper Park Road in Wickford, Essex, was looking after the child, and an eight-year-old boy, at his home when the shooting happened. Basildon Crown Court heard the children had found the gun on Wilson's bed in November last year. The five-year-old was seriously injured in his left eye. Wilson admitted possessing a firearm without a certificate and possession of cannabis. He is due to be sentenced in July. |
