Police are trying to trace a man causing "alarm and distress" to women by driving around with a fully clothed mannequin in the back of his car. The man has been spotted with the mannequin in a blue Mercedes E200 in Addlestone, Rowtown, Ottershaw, New Haw and West Byfleet, in Surrey. Police said he appeared to be targeting one particular woman by staring at her. In the latest incident, on Friday, the man approached two women in Ottershaw Park car park and jumped on their car. Distressing behaviour Before approaching the women he had come out of some bushes on a bicycle. The man was described as aged between 40 and 50 years old, approximately 5ft 10in tall and slim. He had short, grey hair in a ponytail, a short stubbly beard and was scruffily dressed. The car he was driving had its front radiator grille missing. Det Sgt Will Tharby said the man's behaviour was causing alarm and distress and would not be tolerated. "This man has a distinctive appearance and we are therefore appealing to local residents to contact us if they have seen him or know where we can find him," he said. |
