Police were called to Chesterton Road in Sparkbrook just before 22:00 BST after a member of the public spotted the child. The child, believed to be of Somali origin, was spotted by a woman outside her home on Chesterton Road in Sparkbrook just before 22:00 BST.

Kusum Parmar, 62, a retired businesswoman who found the young boy, said he was obviously "distressed" and in "floods of tears".
'Knocked a few doors'
She said she walked the streets with him trying to find his parents.
"We went to alley by alley. He seemed to understand a bit when I spoke to him in English," she said.
"‎I knocked quite a few doors but decided if no one knew him I'd have to call the police.
"When they came, I said if they couldn't find anyone, just bring him back to me and I would look after him."
