Crash couple leave six children

Edward Celmins, 50 and his 48-year-old wife Christine, were killed when their Vauxhall Cavalier came off the road on the outskirts of Carlisle. No other vehicle was involved in the incident, which happened near Little Broomhills House, on the Carlisle to Great Orton road, on Wednesday night. An inquest into the deaths has been opened and adjourned pending inquiries. Mr Celmins was a local handyman, but had recently been unable to work due to ill health. He was a keen fisherman and spent his spare time enjoying this hobby. Mrs Celmins was a supervising cleaner at Morton school. The couple have six children, 30-year-old Steven, 29-year-old Anthony, 28-year-old Daniel, 26-year-old Michelle, 24-year-old Edward and Michael who is aged 17. Cumbria Police have appealed for witnesses. |
