Yacht collision victim named

A woman whose body was recovered from the sea after a yacht sank has been named by police.

Bernadine Ingram, 57, was reported missing after reports a yacht had collided with a dredger off Felixstowe, Suffolk.

Emergency services spent more than 24 hours searching after they were contacted at 1.30pm on Sunday.

A man and a dog were recovered alive from the yacht but another dog was reported missing and has not been found.

Suffolk Police said Ms Ingram was from Butley near Woodbridge and her family has asked for privacy.

A post-mortem examination will take place tomorrow.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained, the force added.

A joint investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is being carried out by Suffolk Police and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.
