Armed police help catch escaped cow in Sheffield

Armed police were drafted in to help capture an escaped cow in Sheffield.

The animal, which is believed to have escaped from a field in Woodhouse, was spotted by officers in Manor Castle at about 15:30 BST.

Manor Castle Safer Neighbourhoods Team tweeted to say the cow was being followed by police before firearms officers were deployed to protect members of the public.

The cow was captured near to Sheffield Springs Academy at about 17:00.
