One person dead after house fire in Watten

One person has died after a house fire broke out in a village in the far north of Scotland on Sunday morning.

Emergency services were called to the property in Watten, on the road between Wick and Thurso.

The alarm was raised at about 08:00 but when crews arrived the blaze had burnt out.

Details of the victim of the fire are yet to be released.
