A man is due in court later charged with the murder of a student who died after a night out in Liverpool. A 21-year-old man has appeared before magistrates in Liverpool charged with murdering a 24-year-old student from Liverpool University.
Sion Hardy, 24, from Bangor, north Wales, died in the early hours of Thursday in an incident near the Medication club in Wolstenholme Square. Sion Hardy, from Bangor, North Wales, died on Thursday after an alleged fight after he had left Liverpool's Medication nightclub.
Mr Hardy, who studied planning at Liverpool University, had been out with friends when he was allegedly attacked. Simon Taylor, from Everton Brow, Everton, is charged with his murder.
Simon Taylor, 21, of Everton Brow, Everton, will appear before magistrates in Liverpool charged with murder. He was remanded in custody by magistrates and is due to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on 30 November.
Four people from Liverpool have been released on police bail pending further inquiries. Mr Taylor, who is originally from Ashton Under Lyne, Greater Manchester, is a building student at Liverpool John Moores University.
Three men and one woman are on police bail after being arrested on suspicion of murder.
