A pub doorman is in a life-threatening condition after being stabbed in the early hours of Saturday, West Midlands Police have said.

The 38-year-old was attacked at the Harp Inn on Walsall Street, Wolverhampton.

Officers described the situation as "highly charged" with a large number of people gathered at the scene.

The area has been cordoned off by detectives who are now appealing for witnesses.
