Four people were killed when a gunman opened fire at the museum in the busy Sablon area of Brussels. They were an Israeli couple in their 50s, a French female volunteer and a Belgian employee of the museum.
One person was detained after he drove away from the scene around the time of the attack, but he was later released.
Belgium has a Jewish population of some 42,000, about half of whom live in the capital.
