Man in court over missing Vicky Man charged with Vicky's murder

A man is due to appear in court later on charges related to the death of missing 15-year-old Vicky Hamilton. A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of 15-year-old Vicky Hamilton, who went missing in 1991.
Vicky's remains were found at a house in Margate, Kent, by police investigating the disappearance of another missing girl. Peter Tobin, 61, appeared in private at Linlithgow Sheriff Court.

Vicky's father Michael and other relatives gathered at the court and Mr Hamilton was accompanied by a police officer as he walked in front of the Reliance prison van which conveyed Mr Tobin to court.
There was a sizeable police presence at the court in West Lothian and some of the family and onlookers who had gathered outside shouted abuse as Mr Tobin was led in and out of the rear of the building by prison escort staff.

Prior to the court appearance, Vicky's uncle Eric Hamilton told reporters outside: "All I can say is that Mike is happy that the long road is nearly at an end.
"We just want peace and to put Vicky where she belongs."
