York Glory (8.00) returns to action at Beverley tonight and looks worth a bet at 2-1 or better. Now six, the grey covered himself in glory last year, winning the Wokingham and running Maarek to a length when last seen. His late reappearance could be a concern but he ran one of his better races of 2013 on his reappearance last year and this looks winable. Soft ground is no problem for him but may be for some of his rivals. Earlier, Don’t Tell Annie (7.30) has a clear chance in the Hilary Needler for a trainer, Tim Easterby, who has won the race twice in 10 years. A maiden winner on her debut at Pontefract, she had an interrupted preparation before running a fair fifth in a Listed race at York’s Dante meeting. At 5-1, Meshardal (4.15) may be pick of the Hamilton card. He followed two Fibresand wins with a neck defeat on soft at Carlisle and gets to run from the same mark. | York Glory (8.00) returns to action at Beverley tonight and looks worth a bet at 2-1 or better.
