A man has been injured in an explosion at a house in Tingley, West Yorkshire. A man who was injured in an explosion at a house near Leeds has been arrested on suspicion of arson.
West Yorkshire Fire Service said three fire engines were sent to the bungalow in The Crescent at about 09:30 BST. Fire crews were sent to the bungalow in The Crescent, Tingley, at about 09:35 BST, after reports of a house on fire.
Police officers and council workers evacuated six nearby properties. Northern Gas Networks said it was investigating the cause of the blast. The 46-year-old man, who freed himself from the house, was taken to hospital suffering from burns to the arms and the effects of breathing in smoke.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service said the man, who freed himself from the house, was taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation and burns to his arms. The fire is being treated as suspicious and an investigation has been launched, West Yorkshire Police said.
No-one else was injured in the explosion. Six nearby properties were evacuated by police officers and council workers following the explosion, but no-one else was injured.

"We do not know what's happened to our house. Another neighbour, Jess, who was asleep at the time of the explosion, said the scene was "unbelievable".

A spokesman for Northern Gas Networks said: "We are currently working with the emergency services to determine the cause of the explosion."
