There has been an explosion at a bungalow in Tingley, West Yorkshire, emergency services have confirmed. A man has been injured in a gas explosion at a bungalow in Tingley, West Yorkshire.
West Yorkshire Fire Service said three fire engines are in attendance. It is unknown if anybody has been injured. West Yorkshire Fire Service said three fire engines were sent to the property in The Crescent at about 09:30 BST.
Police officers and council workers began evacuating nearby properties after emergency services were called at 09:30 BST. Police officers and council workers evacuated six nearby properties. Northern Gas Networks confirmed the blast was caused by a gas explosion.
BBC Radio Leeds reporter Tracey Gee said a man was treated for suspected burns to his chest.
It is not known if anyone else was injured.
Neighbour Barry Bedford said: "I was watching the TV and [the house] blew up. A big bang and the whole sky was smoking."
Mr Bedford's wife, Joyce, was in bed when she heard what she described as a series of explosions.
She said: "I heard the first bang and then Barry shouted 'Get out of bed'.
"As I was getting out of bed the second explosion went off and then, when we were outside, another explosion went off.
"We do not know what's happened to our house.
"They won't let me back in to get dressed."
